U.S. Approves $1.3 Billion Financing for Pakistan’s Reko Diq Project

The United States has approved a $1.3 billion loan for Pakistan’s flagship Reko Diq project, marking a major development for the country’s mineral sector.

The approval was announced during a meeting chaired by the U.S. Secretary of State in Washington, where participants discussed strategies to secure the supply of critical minerals. The meeting focused on developing new supply chain sources and promoting safe, reliable transportation and logistics networks.

At the meeting, the United States formally approved the $1.3 billion loan for Pakistan’s Reko Diq project.

Under U.S. President Donald Trump’s Vault Project, the financing will be provided to Pakistan through the U.S. Export-Import Bank.
