UAE Ambassador Meets Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Reaffirms Strong Bilateral Ties

Salem Mohammed Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Pakistan, met Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House on Tuesday. The meeting was also attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.

The Prime Minister warmly welcomed Ambassador Al Zaabi and congratulated him on assuming his new role. He underscored Pakistan’s deep appreciation for its long-standing, brotherly relationship with the UAE, noting that decades of friendship, mutual respect and close cooperation have been the cornerstone of bilateral ties.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his best wishes to the UAE leadership and said he looked forward to the forthcoming visit of UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to Pakistan.

Expressing satisfaction over the current level of bilateral trade, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of further strengthening economic cooperation. He highlighted opportunities for expanded collaboration in trade, investment, energy, minerals, information technology, railways and aviation.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to deepening relations with the UAE, the Prime Minister encouraged greater Emirati investment in key sectors to support Pakistan’s economic development. He also acknowledged the UAE’s continued support for Pakistan, particularly through humanitarian assistance and development initiatives.

Ambassador Al Zaabi thanked the Prime Minister for the meeting and conveyed warm greetings from President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He reiterated the UAE’s strong interest in expanding its partnership with Pakistan and pledged to work closely to identify new areas of cooperation that would benefit both countries.
