UAE Withdraws Troops From Yemen’s Aden, Hands Control to Saudi Arabia
The United Arab Emirates said Wednesday it has withdrawn its troops from Yemen’s southern port city of Aden and returned them home, transferring control to Saudi Arabia, which leads the Arab military coalition fighting in the country.
In a statement carried by the state news agency WAM, the UAE military said it had already scaled back its presence in June and would continue operations against what it called “terrorist organizations” in southern provinces and other areas of Yemen.
