Ukraine Invites Pakistan Support Just Resolution
Ukraine has called for sustained international unity and a just resolution to the ongoing war, urging neutral states not to equate neutrality with indifference to aggression or violations of international law.
In a statement, Markiian Chuchuk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Pakistan, emphasized that while neutrality in great-power rivalries may be understandable, it must not translate into silence in the face of war crimes or attacks on the foundations of global legal order.
Ukraine Envoy Urges Just Peace Settlement
Addressing Pakistan’s role as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, he noted that Islamabad holds meaningful potential to contribute to advancing efforts toward a just and lasting settlement. He stressed that countries seeking peace and stability within their own societies should not remain passive observers when international law is under strain.
The ambassador underscored that Ukraine does not ask neutral states to align with specific geopolitical blocs. However, he said the defense of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and legal norms must remain a shared responsibility of the international community.
Ukraine Seeks Stronger Europe Amid Ongoing War
Reaffirming Ukraine’s strategic orientation, Chuchuk stated that his country aspires to become part of a united Europe, describing it as a normative alternative to imperialism and autocracy. He argued that Europe must continue strengthening itself militarily and politically to safeguard its own defense and prosperity, and to respond effectively to emerging global challenges.
“Ukraine sees itself as a pillar of this stronger Europe,” he said, highlighting Kyiv’s view that its struggle is not only about national survival but also about broader regional stability and democratic principles.
Four years into the conflict, the ambassador acknowledged that the path toward a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace remains complex and demanding. Nevertheless, he called on Ukraine’s partners and friends to remain resolute and united in their support.
Kyiv Appeals for Unity and Lasting Peace
He characterized Ukraine’s resilience as an investment in a more secure future — not only for Ukraine but also for Europe and the wider international community. According to the envoy, sustained diplomatic engagement, solidarity, and adherence to international norms are essential components of achieving durable peace.
The remarks reflect Ukraine’s continued diplomatic outreach to countries across Asia and other regions, as Kyiv seeks to build broader international backing for its position. By engaging with states that maintain balanced foreign policies, Ukrainian officials aim to reinforce the principle that respect for sovereignty and opposition to aggression are universal concerns rather than bloc-based alignments.
As a member of the United Nations Security Council, Pakistan occupies a position that can influence discussions on international peace and security. The Ukrainian envoy’s appeal underscores expectations that council members, including non-permanent ones, play constructive roles in promoting dialogue and upholding international law.
While acknowledging the hardships endured over the past four years, Chuchuk maintained that unity among partners remains critical. He reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to pursuing a comprehensive settlement that ensures justice, sovereignty, and long-term stability.
The statement concludes with a call for continued solidarity, emphasizing that today’s collective resolve will shape the security architecture of tomorrow.
