UN Security Council to Meet on Situation in Iran
UNITED NATIONS – The UN Security Council is scheduled to meet Thursday to discuss the situation in Iran, a spokeswoman for the Somali Permanent Mission to the United Nations said. Somalia currently holds the rotating presidency of the council for January.
Khadija Ahmed, spokeswoman for the Somali mission, confirmed that the council plans a briefing on Iran at 3 p.m. local time (2000 GMT) on Thursday, January 15, 2026, following a request from the United States.
