US Issues New Security Alert for Pakistan After Islamabad Suicide Attack
Islamabad: In the aftermath of a deadly suicide bombing in the federal capital, the United States has issued a new security alert concerning Pakistan.
The US State Department released a security advisory following the Islamabad suicide attack, urging American citizens traveling to or residing in Pakistan to remain vigilant. The advisory advises US nationals to avoid public gatherings and to reassess their personal security plans.
The State Department also recommended that American citizens closely monitor local media for the latest updates on the security situation.
The alert comes two days after a suicide attack during Friday prayers in the outskirts of Islamabad’s Tarlai Kalan area, which left 35 people dead and more than 169 injured.
