Uzbekistan’s Centrum Air to Launch Direct Tashkent–Lahore Flights

ISLAMABAD: Uzbekistan’s private airline Centrum Air has announced plans to launch direct flights to Pakistan, further strengthening air connectivity between the two countries.

Starting in April this year, Centrum Air will begin operating direct flights between Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent, and Pakistan’s second-largest city, Lahore. The Tashkent–Lahore service is expected to operate twice a week.

The new route adds to the steadily expanding aviation links between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. Currently, the national carrier Uzbekistan Airways operates four weekly flights connecting Tashkent with Islamabad and Lahore. More than 30,000 passengers have used these routes to date, reflecting growing people-to-people movement between the two countries.

Official figures show that nearly 19,000 Pakistani citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes in 2025, benefitting from the availability of direct air services.

The launch of additional direct flights between Tashkent and Lahore is expected to support the further development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, while also promoting exchanges in tourism, science and academia, education, and cultural and humanitarian fields.

Centrum Air was established in 2023 and currently operates a fleet of 14 aircraft.
