World Government Summit 2026 Set to Be Largest Ever, Says Chairman

Dubai: This year’s World Government Summit (WGS) will be the largest in the event’s history, with 35 heads of state and government leaders confirming their participation, according to an international media report.

Speaking at an event at the Museum of the Future, WGS Foundation Chairman Mohammad Al-Gergawi said confirmed attendees include Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, and Switzerland’s President Guy Parmelin.

The annual summit, held in Dubai, focuses on governance and the role of innovation and technology in addressing global challenges. Al-Gergawi said the program will feature 24 side events, including forums on artificial intelligence, education, and sustainability.

More than 35 ministerial meetings are scheduled, including the Ministerial Roundtable with Arab Youth Ministers, the Future of Tourism Roundtable, and the launch of the Sustainable Development Goals Global Council.

Four honors will be awarded during the summit, recognizing the best minister, most reformed government, sustainability initiatives, and the best teacher. Al-Gergawi also said the summit will host the world’s largest global gathering of Nobel laureates, with around 50 participants presenting scientific solutions to challenges faced by governments.

He emphasized that the summit aims to strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors, noting that partnerships are central to addressing future challenges.

The World Government Summit will take place at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, from February 3 to 5.
