Saudi Arabia Ranks Second Globally in World Bank’s 2025 GovTech Index, Cabinet Says

The Saudi Cabinet on Tuesday highlighted the Kingdom’s achievement of ranking second globally in the 2025 GovTech Maturity Index during its weekly meeting.

The index, recently released by the World Bank, showed Saudi Arabia performing strongly across all sub-indicators, earning an overall score of 99.64 percent and placing it in the “Very Advanced” category.

In other developments, ministers welcomed a newly announced agreement to develop a high-speed rail link between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, saying the project would enhance mobility and support tourism growth.

The Cabinet also praised the outcomes of recent meetings of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council and the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council, noting that such engagements help strengthen bilateral relations at all levels. Ministers reviewed agreements and memorandums of understanding signed during those meetings.

On foreign policy, the Cabinet reaffirmed that the Kingdom remains committed to promoting regional security and stability through continued diplomatic engagement.
