The committee will assess the security of government information systems and identify cyber vulnerabilities within the IT infrastructure of ministries and public sector organizations. It will conduct comprehensive information security gap assessments and propose corrective measures to mitigate cyber risks.
According to officials, the committee will also develop recommendations to strengthen the national cybersecurity framework and monitor the implementation of information security standards across government departments. Key sectors, including health, energy, aviation, and transportation, will undergo detailed cybersecurity reviews.
In addition, the committee will propose improvements in technical controls within government IT systems, recommend reforms in cybersecurity-related human resources, and ensure that security considerations are integrated into the procurement of cyber and IT systems.
