Iran Ready for War or Talks, Says Foreign Minister

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that the country is prepared for both conflict and negotiations.

In a statement, Araghchi said that violence increased over the weekend as terrorists targeted protesters and security forces, but the situation is now fully under control.

He noted that in recent days, peaceful demonstrations in Iran had turned violent, with 350 mosques set on fire over two weeks. Despite the unrest, Iranian forces exercised maximum restraint, and the protesters’ demands were legitimate and being heard by the government.

Araghchi also claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump’s comments had worsened the protests, creating a pretext for foreign intervention.

“We are ready for both war and negotiations,” he said, emphasizing Iran’s dual approach.

This comes after Trump recently stated that Iran had reached out for talks and arrangements were being made. At the same time, Trump warned that the U.S. was considering military options against Iran, potentially even before negotiations take place.
