Naeem Mehboob:
RAWALPINDI: Exercise Inspired Gambit–2026, a bilateral counter-terrorism training exercise between the Pakistan Army and the United States Army, is being conducted from January 8 to 16, 2026. This marks the 13th iteration of the exercise series, which has been held regularly since 1995.
A Distinguished Visitors’ Day ceremony took place on January 15 at the National Counter Terrorism Centre in Pabbi. Her Excellency Ms. Natalie Baker, Chargé d’Affaires of the United States to Pakistan, along with senior US military officials and Commander Rawalpindi Corps, attended the event.
The visitors were briefed on the scope, objectives, and conduct of the exercise. Participants from both armies demonstrated a high level of professionalism and competence, earning praise from the visiting dignitaries.
The exercise is designed to strengthen bilateral military cooperation by exchanging counter-terrorism expertise, refining CT drills and procedures, and enhancing operational interoperability between the two forces.
