Belarus Approves Establishment of Cryptocurrency Banks
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has signed a decree authorizing the creation and operation of cryptocurrency banks in the country.
The move is aimed at strengthening Belarus’s reputation in information technology and digital finance. Under the decree, crypto banks will be required to integrate traditional banking services with cryptocurrency transactions.
These banks must register with the Belarus High-Tech Park (HTP) and comply with oversight from both the National Bank of Belarus and the HTP, ensuring dual regulation.
The decision comes amid growing demand for cryptocurrency transactions in the region, particularly following Western sanctions against Russia.
