Pakistan, Belgium Hold 4th Bilateral Political Consultations in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Belgium held the 4th round of Bilateral Political Consultations in Islamabad, aimed at strengthening ties and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.

The Pakistani delegation was led by Additional Secretary Europe, Ambassador Ayesha Ali, while the Belgian delegation was headed by Director General Birgit Stevens.

Both sides welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to further collaboration in areas such as trade, investment, education, health sciences, and people-to-people exchanges. Ambassador Ayesha Ali expressed gratitude to Belgium for its continued support of Pakistan’s GSP Plus status.

A detailed exchange of views on regional and global issues of mutual concern was also conducted. The Belgian delegation additionally paid a courtesy call on Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary.

Both sides agreed to maintain close contacts and plan the next session of consultations in Brussels in 2027.
