US Delegation Meets Putin in Moscow to Discuss Ukraine Peace Talks
MOSCOW: Negotiations between U.S. representatives and Russian President Vladimir Putin have begun in the Kremlin, focusing on a potential peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.
Special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, former U.S. President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, met with Putin to discuss ways to end hostilities. The visit was announced a day in advance, according to Russian media reports.
Russian state media released footage of Witkoff’s private jet arriving at a Moscow airport, followed by videos showing the motorcade of U.S. representatives entering the Kremlin under heavy security.
The primary topic of the discussions is reported to be the search for avenues to halt military operations in Ukraine. At present, officials from both the White House and the Kremlin have not commented on the details of the negotiations or potential terms of a proposed peace plan.
