Iran Commends Pakistan for Courageous Stand on Controversial UN Resolution
The Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri-Moghaddam, has expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its principled stance in opposing a UN Human Rights Council resolution against Iran.
In a statement, Ambassador Amiri-Moghaddam praised Pakistan for voting against the resolution, describing it as a demonstration of support for Iran and a reflection of Islamabad’s commitment to international law and multilateral principles.
He specifically commended the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, noting Pakistan’s decisive and principled role in defending Iran’s position. According to the ambassador, Pakistan took a courageous step by challenging the call for a vote on what he termed an “unjust resolution” against Iran.
Ambassador Amiri-Moghaddam highlighted that Iran’s position prevailed despite a 12-day period of aggression, externally supported unrest, and attempts to misuse international mechanisms, marking the third consecutive setback for political actions against Iran.
He further stated that Pakistan’s support reflects its dedication to justice, human rights, multilateralism, and national sovereignty, and emphasized that Iran would always value Islamabad’s principled and consistent backing.
