Hakan Fidan Says Israeli Strike on Iran Would Destabilize Region
Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has warned that Israel is actively seeking an opportunity to launch an attack on Iran, cautioning that any such move would further destabilize the already fragile Middle East region.
In an interview with a Turkish broadcaster, Fidan said he hoped that alternative paths of diplomacy and restraint would prevail, but stressed that the reality on the ground suggests otherwise. “We hope a different route will be chosen, but the fact remains that Israel is looking for an opportunity to attack Iran,” he stated.
The Turkish foreign minister warned that any military action of this nature would have serious regional consequences, pushing the Middle East into deeper instability and escalating existing tensions.
Referring to his recent visit to Iran, Fidan said that Turkey, as a friendly nation, had conveyed its concerns candidly to Iranian leadership. He added that Ankara remains engaged in diplomatic efforts aimed at preventing further escalation and preserving regional stability.
