Pakistan Navy Carries Out Maritime Rescue Operation 1,500 km Off Gwadar

Islamabad: Pakistan Navy successfully carried out a maritime rescue operation approximately 1,500 kilometers from Gwadar, saving a sick Sri Lankan crew member from an Indonesian-flagged vessel, MV Grey Palm, in the open sea.

The operation was launched at the request of the Sri Lankan Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre. Upon receiving the alert, Pakistan Navy dispatched its ships PNS Ma’oon and PNS Tabuk to provide immediate assistance.

The sick crew member was safely rescued from the vessel and transferred to PNS Tabuk, where prompt medical attention was provided.

The Pakistan Navy activated its coordinated maritime protocols and executed the operation with professional expertise, ensuring the safe evacuation of the patient. Sri Lankan authorities and the family of the crew member expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s timely assistance.

Officials emphasized that Pakistan Navy upholds its international responsibilities at sea, prioritizing the protection of human life regardless of nationality.
