Pakistan Myanmar dialogue focuses on cooperation and regional stability

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Monday received the Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, H E Than Swe, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where both sides held delegation-level talks aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two foreign ministers reviewed the full spectrum of Pakistan–Myanmar relations and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation across a wide range of sectors. Particular emphasis was placed on religious tourism, people-to-people contacts and cultural exchanges as key areas for promoting long-term engagement and shared prosperity.

The talks also covered regional and international peace and security issues, with both sides exchanging views on developments of mutual concern. The two ministers agreed to remain in close contact and maintain regular diplomatic engagement on matters of shared interest.

The meeting reflected Islamabad’s broader diplomatic outreach in Asia and its efforts to deepen relations with regional partners through sustained political dialogue, cultural connectivity and expanded sectoral cooperation.
