Ishaq Dar Chairs Review of Pakistan’s Role in Global IT and Telecom Forums

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting to review Pakistan’s presence and role in multilateral forums linked to the Information Technology and Telecommunications sectors.

During the session, Senator Dar emphasized the importance of strengthening Pakistan’s engagement with relevant United Nations bodies dealing with IT and telecom affairs. He stressed the need for a coordinated national approach, calling for closer collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure effective representation and influence in international platforms.

The meeting brought together key officials, including the Minister for Information Technology, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch, the Secretary of Information Technology, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, and other senior representatives from concerned departments.

Discussions focused on aligning national priorities with multilateral engagement strategies to enhance Pakistan’s visibility, participation, and impact in global IT and telecommunications policy forums.
