T20 World Cup 2026 to Feature Group Stages Super 8 and Knockouts

Cricket fans are gearing up as the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is set to begin on February 7, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The 10th edition of the tournament will feature 20 teams competing across 54 matches, concluding with the final on March 8.

This year’s tournament continues with the expanded format introduced in 2024, maintaining participation of 20 teams. However, there was a late change in the lineup after Bangladesh was expelled from the competition due to security concerns and refusal to travel to India. Scotland has replaced Bangladesh in the tournament.

The 20 teams have been divided into four groups of five teams each:

Group A: India, Namibia, Netherlands, Pakistan, USA
Group B: Australia, Ireland, Oman, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe
Group C: England, Italy, Nepal, West Indies, Scotland
Group D: Afghanistan, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, United Arab Emirates (UAE)

The tournament format consists of two group stages followed by a knockout round
