US Does Not Share Iran Policy With Middle East Allies, Says Trump

Washington: US President Donald Trump has said that the United States does not share its political intentions regarding Iran with its Middle East allies.

Speaking in an interview with a US television channel, President Trump said Washington wants to continue negotiations with Iran and reach a concrete outcome.

He said the plan is for Iran to engage in talks, adding that the United States would then assess what could be achieved, otherwise it would see how the situation unfolds.

Referring once again to military deployments, President Trump said that a large naval fleet was moving toward Iran.

Commenting on the ongoing negotiations, Trump reiterated that the United States does not disclose its political objectives on Iran to its Middle East partners.

A day earlier, the US president had said that Iranian officials wanted to make the deal meaningful and that only they knew whether there was any deadline involved.
