PM Shehbaz Meets Pakistani Pavilion Team at Venice Biennale 2026
Islamabad : Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with the Pakistani Pavilion team at the 61st Venice Biennale 2026 during a historic art exhibition in Venice, Italy.
The delegation included Najam Sethi, renowned Pakistani artist Faiza Butt representing the pavilion, pavilion curator Beatriz Cifuentes Feliciano, and Pakistan Pavilion Commissioner Dr. Yaqoob Khan Bangash.
During the meeting, the team briefed the Prime Minister on Pakistan’s participation, highlighting that the pavilion will showcase the richness, aesthetics, and beauty of traditional Pakistani art to visitors and tourists from around the world. They also noted that multiple events under the Pakistani Pavilion are scheduled from May to November 2026 to provide a comprehensive insight into Pakistan’s culture and arts.
The 61st Venice Biennale, inaugurated in 1895, is the world’s oldest and largest art exhibition, renowned for its diversity and creativity.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the team and emphasized the importance of promoting Pakistan’s historical and cultural heritage, highlighting its diversity and inclusive elements to a global audience. The pavilion team also extended an invitation to the Prime Minister for the official opening of the Pakistani Pavilion.
