Dr. Usman Anwar Appointed Director General of FIA

Islamabad: The Federal Government has appointed Dr. Usman Anwar, a BS-21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, as Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division on February 3, 2026, Dr. Usman Anwar was previously serving as Provincial Police Officer (PPO) in the Government of Punjab. With the approval of the Federal Government, he has been transferred and posted as DG FIA under the Civil Servants Act, 1973, and the FIA Act, 1974.

The notification states that his appointment will take effect immediately and will remain in force until further orders.

Copies of the notification have been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office, President’s Secretariat, Cabinet Division, Interior Division, provincial chief secretaries, provincial police chiefs, and other concerned departments.
