DG FIA Revises Authority for Suspending Officers, Implements New Civil Servant Rules
Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has revised the rules governing the suspension of its officers, according to a new order issued by the Director General.
Under the updated guidelines, only the authority initiating departmental action will be authorized to suspend an officer. The rules, implemented under the Civil Servants Rules 2020, set an initial suspension period of 120 days, which will automatically end if not extended.
Officers involved in criminal cases and jailed will be considered suspended from the date of their arrest. The DG FIA has also delegated suspension powers to lower-level authorities.
The Internal Affairs Bureau (IAB) has circulated the new instructions to all FIA directors to ensure implementation across divisions.
