World Bank Reaffirms $20 Billion, 10-Year Development Program for Pakistan

Islamabad : The World Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to the implementation of a $20 billion, 10-year development program for Pakistan, according to the Ministry of Finance.

The reaffirmation came during a meeting between Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb and the Managing Director of the World Bank, held in Saudi Arabia. The meeting reviewed progress on the Pakistan–World Bank development framework.

According to the Ministry of Finance, discussions covered cooperation in key sectors including energy, education, health, and climate change. The two sides also exchanged views on development projects under debt-for-development arrangements.

The World Bank emphasized the need to improve implementation across various projects and assured continued support for Pakistan’s ongoing economic reform efforts.

Separately, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb also met Saudi Minister of Investment Faisal bin Fadhil Al-Ibrahim. During the meeting, the Saudi minister said Saudi Arabia remains committed to benefiting from Pakistani talent.
