British High Commissioner Meets Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz in Lahore
President of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, during which matters of mutual interest and the prevailing regional situation were discussed.
The meeting focused on Pakistan–United Kingdom relations, regional developments and avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation. Both sides underscored the importance of sustained political engagement and dialogue in promoting stability and cooperation.
British High Commissioner Jane Marriott appreciated Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s services to Pakistan, acknowledging his contributions to the country’s political and democratic development. She also highlighted the importance of continued engagement between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif briefed the British High Commissioner on governance priorities, reform initiatives and development efforts underway in Punjab, and reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to public welfare and institutional strengthening.
