Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Announces Rs10 Billion Support for Balochistan Security Forces
QUETTA : Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday announced a financial assistance package of Rs10 billion for security forces in Balochistan during her visit to Quetta. The announcement was made at a ceremony held at the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters.
During her visit, the Chief Minister also toured the Balochistan Chief Minister’s Secretariat, where she was warmly received by Chief Minister Sardar Sarfraz Bugti, provincial cabinet members, and members of the provincial assembly.

Addressing the gathering, Maryam Nawaz lauded the resilience of the people of Balochistan and their strong commitment to Pakistan. She assured that the Government of Punjab would extend full support to address the province’s challenges, emphasizing that national unity is key to eliminating terrorism. She expressed her desire to see peace, stability, and prosperity flourish in Balochistan.
The Punjab Chief Minister clarified that Balochistan is not facing internal strife but is confronting the threat of “Fitna al-Khawarij” and pledged full cooperation for ongoing operations against these extremist elements. She said Punjab’s resources and services are at the disposal of Balochistan and prayed for the swift elimination of terrorism in the province.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sardar Sarfraz Bugti welcomed Maryam Nawaz to the province and described the Rs10 billion support for security forces as a positive and commendable initiative. He added that both the government and opposition in Balochistan remain united in serving the public welfare.
