President Zardari Graces 47th Anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution in Islamabad
Islamabad: ( by Naeem Mehboob ) The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad on Wednesday hosted a prestigious ceremony to commemorate the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, with President Asif Ali Zardari attending as the Chief Guest.
The event was hosted by the Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, and was attended by federal ministers, parliamentarians, senior civil and military officials, diplomats, religious scholars, members of the business community, and media representatives.

The ceremony began with the national anthems of Pakistan and Iran, reflecting the longstanding diplomatic and cultural ties between the two neighboring countries.
Ambassador Highlights Revolution’s Legacy
In his address, Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam underscored the historical significance of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, describing it as a manifestation of the Iranian people’s collective will for independence, sovereignty, and national dignity.

He emphasized that the revolution laid the foundation for Iran’s political independence and self-reliance while reinforcing its commitment to regional cooperation and peaceful coexistence.
The Ambassador also highlighted the deep-rooted historical, religious, and cultural bonds between Pakistan and Iran, reaffirming Tehran’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, energy, border management, and regional stability.

President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the government and people of Iran on the occasion and reiterated Pakistan’s strong desire to further strengthen bilateral relations.

He noted that Pakistan values its relationship with Iran as a close neighbor and brotherly Muslim country, stressing the importance of enhancing economic partnership, trade connectivity, and energy collaboration.
The President also emphasized the need for greater regional cooperation to ensure peace, stability, and prosperity, adding that Pakistan remains committed to fostering mutually beneficial ties based on respect and non-interference.

A special exhibition showcasing Iran’s cultural heritage and milestones of the Islamic Revolution was arranged at the venue, drawing keen interest from the guests. The ceremony concluded in a cordial atmosphere, with attendees expressing optimism about the continued strengthening of Pakistan-Iran relations.
