Report Says Imran Khan’s Right Eye Vision Down to 15 Percent

slamabad: A report detailing facilities provided to PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail has surfaced, in which he has claimed that vision in his right eye has been reduced to just 15 percent.

According to the report, Imran Khan requested medical examinations by his personal physician Dr Faisal Sultan and Dr Asim Yousaf, adding that he could also be examined by any specialist doctor. He further sought access to books, citing solitary confinement and lack of access to television.

On security arrangements, the report said Imran Khan expressed no concerns, stating that around 10 CCTV cameras were installed in the compound under his use. While one camera covered part of the washroom area, no camera was installed inside the room or cell.

The report noted that around 100 books were placed on a table, along with two apples and two dumbbells. Items such as tissue paper, mouthwash, air freshener, shaving gel and a shaving kit were also present. Inside the cell, there was a toilet measuring approximately 4.5 by 4.5 feet, separated by a four-foot-high wall without a roof. Hot and cold water, a wash basin and a mirror were available outside the toilet.

According to the report, Imran Khan stated that until around October 2025, both his eyes had normal 6×6 vision. He said his vision later deteriorated, for which doctors at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences provided treatment. He complained of persistent blurriness and dim vision, and said he repeatedly informed the then jail superintendent, but no effective steps were taken. He claimed that his right eye later lost vision completely, after which eye specialist Dr Muhammad Arif from PIMS was called for examination.

The report said Imran Khan claimed a blood clot had formed in his eye, causing severe damage. Despite treatment, including an injection, vision in his right eye remained limited to 15 percent.

According to the report, Imran Khan takes breakfast at around 9:45 am, recites the Holy Quran for about an hour from 11:30 am, and then exercises using limited available equipment. After bathing at around 1:15 pm, he is allowed access to a walking shed within the secure compound, where he can sit or walk. His lunch is taken between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm.

The report stated that overall, Imran Khan raised no concerns about his safety or security. It added that his daily routine varies between summer and winter, and that he remains confined to his cell from around 5:30 pm until 10:00 am the next morning. His cell block is located about a five-minute walk inside Adiala Jail.

According to the report, the cell block kitchen had utensils, crockery and cooking equipment, with most food items stored in jars and sealed containers, including spices and dry fruits, though some room for improvement in cleanliness was noted.

The report said Imran Khan stated that his breakfast typically includes a cup of coffee, porridge and a few dates. Lunch is selected under a weekly plan, with expenses borne by his family, including chicken on two days, meat on two days, lentils or chaat or snacks on remaining days.

According to the report, he has access to bottled drinking water from a private company and usually consumes fruit, milk and dates rather than full meals.

The report further stated that the cell contained three high-voltage bulbs, a ceiling fan and a blower heater. The cell had two tables, a wall clock, a bed, a chair and a small rack. A 32-inch television was mounted on the wall but was found non-functional. There was no cupboard, with clothes hung on five hangers. The provided chair was found uncomfortable. The cell also contained a single mattress, four pillows, two blankets, a prayer mat, prayer beads and two towels.
