Mohsin Naqvi Says Imran Khan to Be Shifted to Islamabad Jail After Completion
Islamabad : Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan would be shifted to the Islamabad jail once construction is completed.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, the interior minister said the jail is expected to be completed within two months, after which Imran Khan will be transferred there. He added that the prison is equipped with all necessary medical facilities.
Mohsin Naqvi said Imran Khan was convicted by an Islamabad court, therefore he would be moved to an Islamabad jail facility once it becomes operational.
The statement comes amid concerns raised by PTI leaders regarding Imran Khan’s health, with allegations that former superintendent of Adiala Jail Abdul Ghafoor Anjum showed negligence in the past.
Separately, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah said Imran Khan would be allowed to undergo an eye check-up by any doctor of his choice.
Rana Sanaullah rejected claims of four months of negligence regarding Imran Khan’s medical care and urged that his health should not be politicised.
