Government Reviews Ramadan Relief Package 2026

Islamabad: The Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection said a review meeting on the Ramadan Relief Package 2026 was held on the prime minister’s instructions.

The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Syed Imran Ahmed Shah and was attended by representatives of NADRA, the State Bank of Pakistan, the Ministry of Information, Benazir Income Support Programme, National Telecommunication Corporation, Pakistan Information Department and commercial banks.

The federal minister directed the State Bank of Pakistan to immediately start crediting Ramadan relief amounts from today and to ensure full operational availability of all banks on the first day of Ramadan. Instructions were also issued to open pending bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries on a priority basis.

According to the statement, focal persons will be appointed for coordination and monitoring, with the formation of a WhatsApp group to share updates twice daily.

The federal minister also visited the control room established to monitor the disbursement of the Ramadan package. As per the real-time dashboard, nearly 200,000 calls have been received so far. More than 95,000 calls were handled through the IVR system, while around 23,000 calls were managed by call agents.

The minister instructed BISP to keep the control room operational 24/7 during the first ten days of Ramadan.

It was further stated that the federal minister had earlier visited the NTC call center established for the Ramadan Package 2026. The call center, located in the NTC F-5 building, has been operational since February 15, 2026, with 50 trained call agents providing services.

For public convenience, a second call center in I-9 also became operational from Monday. On February 16 alone, approximately 43,000 calls related to the Ramadan package were received.
