Pakistan Warns Of New Air Strikes Afghanistan Possible
Islamabad: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Pakistan will not hesitate to carry out new aerial operations in Afghanistan.
In an interview, Khawaja Asif, while commenting on the security situation in Pakistan, said that terrorist attacks in the country are the result of a “proxy war” launched through alleged collusion between the Taliban government in Kabul and India.
He stated that unless Kabul provides a clear guarantee of peace, Pakistan would not refrain from launching fresh air operations inside Afghan territory.
The defence minister reiterated the government’s position that the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which has been involved in major militant attacks inside Pakistan, receives support from the Taliban government based in Afghanistan.
