Trump Warns Iran Decision Within Ten Days Ahead
Washington: US President Donald Trump again warned that clarity on Iran would emerge within 10 days, stressing that Iran would not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons under any circumstances and that failure to reach an agreement would lead to negative consequences.
Addressing the first meeting of the Gaza Peace Board, President Trump said the time had come for Iran to move onto the path of peace with the United States. He said peace in the Middle East was not possible if Iran had nuclear weapons and reiterated that Iran would not be allowed to acquire them.
The US president said talks with Iran were progressing well and that Washington wanted a meaningful agreement. He said a decision regarding Iran would become clear in about 10 days, adding that Iran would have to enter into an agreement or face serious consequences.
Speaking at the same meeting, President Trump said the United States wanted a bright future for the people of Gaza and that countries were contributing toward Gaza’s reconstruction and stability. He said more than $7 billion had already been provided, while the United States would contribute $10 billion. He added that under the agreement, Hamas would hand over its weapons and that Gaza would no longer remain a hub of extremism and terrorism.
It was noted that Pakistan was represented at the first meeting of the Gaza Peace Board by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Before the meeting began, President Trump interacted with participants of the Peace Board and exchanged remarks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
