Saudi Arabia Condemns US Envoy’s Israel Remarks

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned and categorically rejected remarks made by the United States Ambassador to Israel suggesting that Israel’s control over the entire Middle East would be acceptable.

In an official statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom described the comments as “reckless” and characterized them as a clear violation of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and established diplomatic norms. The statement underscored that such rhetoric contradicts the principles that govern relations among sovereign states and risks destabilizing an already fragile region.

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that the remarks were particularly alarming given that they were attributed to a senior U.S. official. According to the statement, irresponsible commentary of this nature sets a dangerous precedent and reflects a troubling disregard for the longstanding and distinguished relationships between countries in the region and the United States.

Riyadh warned that extremist rhetoric advocating dominance or control over sovereign nations carries grave consequences for both regional and international peace and security. The Kingdom stressed that such statements risk antagonizing governments and peoples across the Middle East, deepening tensions at a time when diplomatic efforts are urgently needed to promote dialogue and stability.

The statement further noted that language implying territorial control undermines the foundations of the international order established in the aftermath of devastating global conflicts. Saudi officials reaffirmed that the principles of state sovereignty, territorial integrity, and mutual respect remain cornerstones of global peace and must not be compromised by inflammatory rhetoric.

Calling for accountability and clarity, Saudi Arabia urged the U.S. Department of State to provide an official clarification regarding the ambassador’s remarks. The Kingdom pointed out that the comments have been widely rejected by nations committed to peace and stability, underscoring the importance of reaffirming adherence to international norms.

Reiterating its longstanding position on the Palestinian issue, Saudi Arabia emphasized its firm rejection of any actions or statements that undermine the sovereignty, borders, or territorial integrity of states in the region. The Kingdom stressed that a just and comprehensive resolution to the conflict remains achievable only through a negotiated settlement based on international legitimacy.

Saudi officials reaffirmed that the only viable path toward lasting peace lies in ending the occupation and implementing a two-state solution. This framework calls for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living side by side with Israel in peace and security.

The Kingdom concluded its statement by underscoring its unwavering commitment to supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving stability and security across the Middle East. Saudi Arabia reiterated that sustainable peace can only be built on respect for international law, recognition of sovereign equality, and meaningful dialogue among nations.
