Pakistan Launches Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq, 58 Taliban Killed at Border

Pakistan has launched Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq in response to what officials described as unprovoked actions by the Afghan Taliban regime along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Security sources said Pakistani forces carried out retaliatory operations, destroying multiple Afghan Taliban positions. According to confirmed reports, 58 Taliban personnel have been killed and several check posts have been destroyed in different sectors.

Civilian Injuries Reported in Bajaur Shelling

Sources said Afghan Taliban forces opened fire at various points along the border. Pakistani security forces responded in the Nawagai sector of Bajaur and Tirah in Khyber, while an افغان Taliban check post in the Chitral sector was targeted and destroyed. In Mohmand’s Gursal sector, retaliatory action was reported to be ongoing, with additional Taliban casualties. Two Taliban posts were also destroyed in Bajaur.

Near the Kurram sector, several Taliban positions were targeted and eight more fighters were reported killed. Security officials said Afghan Taliban attempted to target Pakistani check posts using quadcopters, but all drones were shot down. Pakistani forces continued firing using small and heavy weapons and carried out drone strikes against selected Taliban positions.

Airstrikes Target Nangarhar Ammunition Depot

After suffering losses, Afghan Taliban forces reportedly shelled civilian areas. Mortar shells landed in the Laghari area of Bajaur and surrounding localities, injuring five civilians, including three women. The injured were shifted to Khar Hospital for treatment.

Security sources said Pakistani forces captured multiple Afghan posts along the border and hoisted the national flag at those locations. The Pakistan Air Force also carried out strikes in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, destroying a large ammunition depot. Further strikes were reported to be ongoing.

Security Forces Report 58 Taliban Killed

Earlier, the Ministry of Information said Afghan Taliban forces initiated unprovoked firing at multiple points along the border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and that Pakistani forces responded immediately and effectively. It stated that in the Chitral, Khyber, Mohmand, Kurram and Bajaur sectors, Afghan Taliban forces suffered heavy losses.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said Pakistan would not allow anyone to disrupt its peace and reiterated that the country has sought to resolve matters through dialogue. He said Pakistan would go to any extent to ensure the security of its citizens and added that Afghanistan must act as a peaceful neighbor.

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said the unprovoked firing was being responded to effectively and rejected what he described as propaganda by Afghan Taliban and Indian social media accounts. He said such claims had no connection to facts and were being circulated after losses on the ground.

He confirmed that two Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred and three were injured while defending the country. He added that Pakistan carried out successful operations against militants and said any aggression would continue to be met with a firm response.
