President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, during which the two leaders discussed regional developments and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Putin Thanks Azerbaijan for Assisting Russian Citizens’ Evacuation
During the call, President Putin expressed gratitude to President Aliyev for Azerbaijan’s prompt assistance in facilitating the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Islamic Republic of Iran. Putin also thanked the Azerbaijani leadership for creating conditions that allowed humanitarian aid sent by Russia to pass through Azerbaijani territory to Iran.
