During his official visit to Doha on Tuesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with the Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional developments. The meeting took place in Doha and was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi. The two leaders held comprehensive discussions on the full spectrum of bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional and international developments. They reaffirmed the strong fraternal ties between Pakistan and Qatar, expressing satisfaction with the growing momentum in political, economic, and institutional engagement between the two nations. Talks focused on expanding cooperation in key sectors, including trade and investment, energy, defense, labor mobility, and cultural collaboration. Both sides emphasized the importance of operationalizing a joint task force mandated to accelerate progress across these priority areas. The leaders underscored their shared commitment to translating high-level engagements into concrete outcomes that benefit both countries. The discussion also highlighted the need to implement decisions taken during recent bilateral engagements and to strengthen institutional mechanisms such as the Joint Ministerial Commission and Bilateral Political Consultations. Both leaders agreed that sustained coordination through these platforms would ensure structured and forward-looking cooperation. Regional issues featured prominently in the meeting, including the evolving situation in Gaza and broader Gulf security dynamics. Prime Minister Sharif appreciated Qatar’s constructive diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting dialogue and de-escalation in the region. The Qatari leadership’s role in facilitating communication and encouraging peaceful engagement was acknowledged as an important contribution to regional stability. The two leaders underscored the importance of resolving disputes through peaceful means and reaffirmed their commitment to international law, including the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations. They agreed that adherence to these principles remains essential for ensuring lasting peace and security in the Middle East and beyond. Both sides reiterated their shared determination to further strengthen the strategic partnership between their countries. They agreed to maintain close coordination and remain engaged on bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual concern. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Qatar and a mutual pledge to deepen cooperation across political, economic, and security domains.
