Over $3.5 Billion Remitted to Pakistan in December, $40 Billion in 2025
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has released data on remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis. In December 2025, Pakistanis abroad sent $3.58 billion home, with the largest contributions from Saudi Arabia at $810 million.
Other major sources included the United Arab Emirates ($720 million), the United Kingdom ($560 million), and European countries ($490 million).
For the full year 2025, overseas Pakistanis remitted a total of $40.18 billion to the country.
The central bank noted that January 2025 recorded the lowest monthly remittances at $3 billion, while March saw the highest at $4.05 billion. The average monthly remittance for 2025 stood at $3.34 billion.
The SBP highlighted that these remittances continue to play a crucial role in supporting Pakistan’s economy and foreign exchange reserves.
