Yemen Appoints New Prime Minister After Cabinet Resignation
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Yemen’s prime minister has been replaced by the country’s foreign minister after submitting the government’s resignation, according to an international media report.
Prime Minister Salim Saleh Bin Buriek met Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi and presented the cabinet’s resignation to pave the way for the formation of a new government, the report said.
The presidential leadership announced that Foreign Minister Dr. Shaya Mohsen Zindani has been appointed as the new prime minister and tasked with forming the next government.
The resignation was attributed to efforts aimed at restoring state institutions, strengthening the unity of sovereign decision-making, and defeating the coup, the statement added.
Until a new cabinet is formed, the outgoing government will continue to manage routine affairs but will refrain from making appointments or dismissals.
