Uzbekistan-China Trade Hits $14.6 Billion, Officials Discuss 2026 Cooperation Agenda
Tashkent, Uzbekistan: Uzbekistan and China have reviewed the current agenda of their comprehensive strategic partnership and discussed plans for 2026, the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on January 20.
The discussions were held during a meeting between Bobur Usmanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, and Yu Jun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, both sides conducted a detailed review of key bilateral issues and reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening cooperation within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership.
Officials expressed satisfaction with the planned high-level visits and exchanges scheduled for 2026, emphasizing the importance of close coordination in organizing joint events and initiatives.
The meeting also highlighted strong economic ties between the two countries. Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with China reached $14.6 billion from January to November 2025, further confirming China as Uzbekistan’s principal trading partner.
