Iran Says Any Attack on Ayatollah Khamenei Would Amount to War Against Muslim World
Iran’s parliamentary commission on national security has warned that any attack on Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would be regarded as a declaration of war against the entire Muslim world.
According to media reports , the commission said in an official statement that if Iran’s supreme leader were targeted, a religious decree calling for jihad would be issued, triggering reactions from what it described as “soldiers of Islam” across the globe.
The warning follows remarks made last week by a former US ambassador to Israel, who claimed that President Donald Trump could attempt to have Ayatollah Khamenei assassinated. The former diplomat argued that Iran’s supreme leader, now 86 years old, is reportedly ill and that the country is in need of new leadership.
In a separate statement posted on social media platform X, the former ambassador said the United States would soon deploy a major naval fleet to the Middle East. He claimed the move would not only make a potential strike on Iran easier but would also strengthen US defensive readiness in the event of Iranian retaliation.
