Azerbaijani Company Invests in Pakistan’s Oil and Gas Sector

Azerbaijani company has announced its investment in Pakistan’s oil and gas sector, signaling growing international interest in the country’s energy market.

The announcement came during a business roundtable held in Davos, chaired by Federal Minister for Finance, Mohammad Aurangzeb, which brought together CEOs and senior executives of leading global companies to discuss Pakistan’s reform agenda and investment opportunities.

Minister Aurangzeb welcomed the Azerbaijani firm’s commitment, emphasizing the government’s focus on promoting long-term investment and reiterating efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s tax system.

In a related development, Mohammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with Bill Gates, where both sides agreed to expand cooperation in healthcare and institutional reforms in Pakistan. The finance minister also expressed gratitude for the Gates Foundation’s support in the digitalization of Pakistan’s tax system, highlighting the role of technological innovation in improving governance and revenue collection.

The events at Davos underscore Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to attract foreign investment, enhance public-private collaboration, and implement reforms to create a more transparent and investor-friendly economic environment.
