Azerbaijan Rejects Use of Its Territory Against Iran
Baku : Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has stated that his country will not allow its territory or airspace to be used for any military action against Iran.
The Azerbaijani foreign minister made the remarks during a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, emphasizing that Azerbaijan consistently opposes actions and statements that could lead to instability in Iran or the wider region.
Bayramov reaffirmed Baku’s position that regional peace and stability must be preserved through restraint, dialogue, and responsible diplomacy, stressing Azerbaijan’s commitment to avoiding any steps that could escalate tensions.
Meanwhile, an Iranian military spokesperson said there was no immediate likelihood of a US military operation against Iran.
The spokesperson warned that if the United States were to launch an attack, the conflict would inevitably expand across the entire region, stretching from the so-called Zionist state to countries hosting American military bases, turning it into a wider regional confrontation.
