Any US Attack Will Spread War Across Region, Warns Iran’s Supreme Leader
Tehran: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned that any attack by the United States on Iran would lead to the spread of war across the wider region.
His remarks come amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran, with US President Donald Trump issuing repeated threats against Iran in recent days.
According to Iranian state media, Ayatollah Khamenei said President Trump frequently refers to the deployment of warplanes, but stressed that the Iranian nation would not be intimidated by such threats.
“Trump repeatedly says that he has brought aircraft,” Khamenei said. “The Iranian nation will not be frightened by these statements, nor will the Iranian people be intimidated by such threats.”
He added that Iran does not initiate attacks on other countries and does not seek conflict. However, he warned that if any country attacks or harasses the Iranian nation, it would face a strong response.
The statement comes as the United States has increased its naval presence in the Middle East. According to the US Navy, it currently has six destroyers, one aircraft carrier, and three littoral combat ships deployed in the region.
