Iran, US Confirm Nuclear Talks Will Proceed as Scheduled in Oman

Speculation surrounding a possible delay in Iran–United States negotiations has been put to rest, as both sides have confirmed that the talks will proceed on the scheduled date and time.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed through a message posted on social media that nuclear talks with the United States will take place on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Muscat. He also expressed gratitude to Oman for making the necessary arrangements.

Meanwhile, two senior US officials, speaking to American media outlets, also confirmed that the negotiations would be held in Oman.

Earlier, Iran–US nuclear talks had been scheduled to take place in Türkiye on Friday. However, Iran later called for relocating the venue from Istanbul to Oman.

Along with the change in venue, Iran had also demanded that regional partners not be included in the negotiations and that discussions be limited strictly to nuclear-related issues. No details have yet emerged regarding whether these demands have been accepted or rejected.
