Ishaq Dar Chairs High-Level Meeting on Pakistan-EU Trade Cooperation
Islamabad : Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a high-level inter-ministerial meeting on Monday to review steps aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s economic and trade cooperation with the European Union.
During the meeting, Ishaq Dar emphasized the importance of deepening and expanding Pakistan’s trade and economic engagement with the EU, describing it as a key economic partner, particularly within the framework of the Generalised Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP+).

He noted that Pakistan has successfully completed four biennial GSP+ reviews and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fully meeting its obligations under the scheme in order to expand mutually beneficial trade opportunities with European markets.
The meeting was attended by the Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Secretary Foreign Affairs Ambassador Amna Baloch, and the secretaries of Commerce, Interior, Overseas Pakistanis, and Human Rights. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the European Union and senior officials from relevant federal and provincial departments were also present.
