Russia Receives New Batch of Fifth-Generation Su-57 Fighter Jets

Moscow : Russia’s state-owned defense conglomerate Rostec has announced that a large batch of fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jets has entered service with the Russian army.

In a statement issued on Monday, Rostec said its subsidiary, the United Aircraft Corporation, has manufactured and delivered the aircraft to the Russian Ministry of Defense in a new technical configuration.

According to the statement, the jets have been equipped with upgraded onboard systems and an enhanced weapons complex. The aircraft underwent a full cycle of factory trials before being evaluated by military pilots across various operational modes.

Rostec chief executive Sergey Chemezov said aviation plants are fulfilling their production commitments on time, continuously modernizing equipment based on operational requirements and combat conditions.

“The Su-57 is a formidable weapon that has proven its effectiveness on the front line,” Chemezov said, adding that the aircraft has successfully engaged multiple targets. He noted that the fifth-generation fighter is capable of operating even against the most advanced enemy air defense systems.

Chemezov said the newly delivered jets are more powerful and dangerous than previous versions.

The Su-57 is designed to carry out a broad range of combat missions, including strikes against air, ground, and naval targets. It is capable of operating around the clock, in adverse weather conditions, and in environments affected by electronic jamming. Its low observability enhances its effectiveness against modern air defense systems.

Rostec is one of Russia’s largest state-owned industrial groups and plays a central role in the country’s defense industry, technology development, and strategic economic planning.
