President Aliyev Welcomes U.S. Companies to Explore Investment and Trade Opportunities

BAKU : President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a high-level delegation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on February 9, led by Khush Choksy, Senior Vice President for International Member Relations and Middle East & Türkiye.

The delegation included Jennifer Miel, Vice President for the Middle East, Central Asia, and Türkiye, along with senior representatives from major U.S. companies such as Apple, Ardea Energy Technologies, Ericsson, ExxonMobil, Herbalife, Illumina, Meta, Visa, Wabtec, Baker Hughes, bp, Boeing Global, Honeywell, J.P. Morgan, Lummus Technology, Marriott, Mastercard, Shell International, Azerbaijan Coca-Cola Bottlers, and Motorola Solutions.

Welcoming the delegation, President Aliyev said: “It is very good to see you. I am glad that you are visiting us. This is a big delegation. We are entering a new phase of bilateral ties, which is very promising and active. Your visit ahead of the Vice President’s visit is of great importance, as our interaction focuses on business, investments, trade, and other strategic areas.”

He added that the delegation would hold meetings with government officials to address their queries and expected that the mission would foster more active cooperation across multiple sectors. “I know that you represent different segments of the U.S. economy, which will be very useful, as our economic relations are not yet at the level we would like to see,” he said.

Responding, Khush Choksy expressed appreciation for the invitation and support from Azerbaijan’s government, including the Ministry of Economy, AZPROMO, and the U.S. Embassy. She noted that the delegation represents 60 officials from 31 companies across diverse sectors, including energy, technology, food and beverages, mobility, and transportation. “Typically, business relations move faster than political ones, but here, political relations have advanced faster than business. The companies will catch up quickly, which reflects your leadership,” she said.

President Aliyev welcomed the delegation once again and highlighted the opportunity for them to learn more about Azerbaijan, particularly as many were visiting the country for the first time.
