Saudi Crown Prince Congratulates Bangladesh’s New Prime Minister Tarique Rahman

RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has congratulated Tarique Rahman on being sworn in as the prime minister of Bangladesh.

In a message, the crown prince also extended his congratulations on the formation of a new government under Rahman’s leadership, according to the Saudi Press Agency, which reported the development early on Wednesday.

Prince Mohammed conveyed his best wishes for Rahman and the people of Bangladesh, expressing hope for their continued progress and prosperity.

Rahman, whose party secured a sweeping victory in the parliamentary elections, took the oath of office during a ceremony held at the South Plaza of the parliament building on Tuesday.

The 60-year-old prime minister is the son of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and assassinated former President Ziaur Rahman.
